Some Honoraries are more than satisfied with completing a single three-year term. Others aim to serve four terms or more, ultimately qualifying for an additional medal — the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD).

Regardless of how long you’ve served, if you feel your energy and enthusiasm waning, if you’re running out of new ideas, if your learning curve has flattened, or if you’re facing significant personal challenges, it may be time to consider a Departure with Dignity ceremony. There’s a wealth of fresh talent out there, and no Honorary is irreplaceable.

The Departure with Dignity ceremony marks a meaningful conclusion to your service as an Honorary. You’ll ring the bell in the mess (hopefully not for the last time) and buy a round of drinks for your comrades.
